Everything you need to know about how to look your best for your senior portrait session!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. Your session can be tailored to your personal or professional goals. It’s also a great option for high school seniors who want a simple studio session. The Modern Portrait Event is designed for individuals rather than families or company teams.

  • Modern Portrait Events are held monthly on select dates at our Houston photography studio. Availability is limited, so advance reservations are recommended.

  • You’re not alone—most clients feel a little nervous at first. Allison will guide you through posing, posture, movement, and expression, so you’ll know exactly what to do throughout your session.

  • Choose clothing that fits well, reflects your profession, and makes you feel confident. Solid colors and simple layers usually photograph beautifully. We’ll provide wardrobe guidance and help you plan multiple looks before your session.

  • We get this question often! While it’s not required, we strongly recommend it—our stylists are trained specifically for camera-ready looks that photograph beautifully under studio lighting. It’s the difference between doing makeup and being professionally prepared for a high-impact portrait. For best results (like the ones you see across our website), we encourage using our team.

  • We understand that life happens! We allow a one-time reschedule with at least 72 hours’ notice. Because we reserve this time just for you, no-shows or last-minute cancellations are not eligible for a refund.
